Once all of the addresses have been geocoded, specify which vehicle and cost profile should be used for the calculation in the Calculation tab. Also enter which costs are incurred for the driver(s) and which routing parameters should be used to calculate the routes.
Note: Please note that when calculating a route with tender+, the emissions are always calculated based on HBEFA (Handbook Emission Factors for Road Transport). The type of emissions calculation selected in the Settings is not taken into account.
Switch to the Calculation tab.
Select the desired vehicle in the Vehicle settings section.
Select the cost profile you want (see Create cost profile ).
Note: When you have selected a cost profile, the saved route costs per kilometre, the fixed costs per trip, the time costs per hour and the fixed costs per calendar day are shown below the selection list.
In the Driver settings area, select whether the vehicle has one or two drivers
.
Note: This information is relevant if you include driving times and rest periods in route planning and when calculating costs.
Select the wage profile you want (see Create wage profile).
Select the start time and start date.
If necessary, you can apply further settings via the toolbar.
Activates or deactivates taking driving times and rest periods into account.
Right-clicking opens a context menu where you can change the driving times and rest periods.
The default times are entered and are saved for the selected vehicle (see Break times tab).
The Drivers selection list is used to specify if the vehicle has one or two drivers.
The For new routes selection list is used to specify which remaining times are used in the new calculation of a route with this vehicle.
Apply vehicle default times: applies the values saved with the vehicle.
Apply remaining times from route: the remaining times will be applied
Individual: you can enter your own vehicles in the fields.
The checkboxes are used to specify if rest periods and/or break times are included in the route calculation. Custom values can be entered in the Driving time until rest period, Duration of shift time, Driving time until a break and Duration of break fields.
Using the button, specify whether the load status of the vehicle is to be considered
Note: The routing parameter is not active for car-type vehicles
Full: The route calculation is performed with vehicle's gross permitted weight.
Note: The maximum load is determined by the vehicle's technical data.
Maximum load = Gross permitted weight (GVW) - unladen weight (+ trailer load).
Semi-laden: The route calculation is carried out using half the GVW.
Empty: The route calculation is carried out with the vehicle's unladen weight.
As entered: If you enter pickup and delivery quantities for the stop-off points, the route calculation is carried out with the actual weight of the vehicle (see Editing stop-off points).
The load code influences the calculation of the route. According to the load code which is entered, tunnels which are barred for this load are not considered for the route planning.
Notes: You use the routing parameter Load to specify the load code for the entire trip. If you only have a hazardous load on one leg of your trip, you can enter the appropriate load code at the pickup point (see Editing stop-off points or Creating an order).
Element | Description |
---|---|
– (No load code) |
No hazardous goods loaded. All tunnels are considered for the route planning. |
![]() |
A vehicle with a Class B load may not pass through Category B, C, D and E tunnels. Therefore, only Category A tunnels are considered for the route planning. |
![]() |
A vehicle with a Class C load may not pass through Category C, D and E tunnels. Therefore, only Category A and B tunnels are considered for the route planning. |
![]() |
A vehicle with a Class D load may not pass through Category D and E tunnels. Therefore, only Category A, B and C tunnels are considered for the route planning. |
![]() |
A vehicle with a Class E load may not pass through Category E tunnels. Therefore, only Category A, B, C and D tunnels are considered for the route planning. |
If you have entered all of the parameters, you have the following options:
Check routes in the preview (see Show preview of results).
Start automatic calculation (see Start automatic calculation of routes and download result).
