Sending routes to drivers

You can send calculated routes directly from TLNplanner internet to a driver's smartphone. If the PTV Driver app is installed on their smartphone, the driver can complete the route and state whether the delivery/pickup has been carried out at each stop-off point.

  • Open a Route planning use case.

  • Enter the stop-off points on the route.

Note: When planning, ensure that you enter a realistic stay duration for pickup and delivery at the stop-off points.

  • Calculate the route.

  • Save the route in the folder Shared within your company.

Note: Routes that you send to the PTV Driver app must be saved in this folder.

  • In the toolbar, click on Send to the driver.

The Send route to driver window will open.

  • Enter the driver's email address in the upper section.

  • Choose the language in which messages should be sent to the driver.

Note: In the settings you can specify the language in which messages should be sent to the customer (see Settings for sent routes).

All stop-off points on the route are shown in the lower area. You can enter the customer's email address for each stop-off point. The customer receives an email with a link showing the driver's estimated arrival time.

  • Enter the customers' email addresses.

You can also specify that the customer should receive information about the progress of the order.

Note: You can apply the default specifications in the settings (see Settings for sent routes).

  • Click on Settings

  • In the Edited settings for <stop-off point> window you have the following options:

    Area/element Description
    Customer email addresses

    Enter the customer's email address

BCC Enter another email address to which a copy of the information should be sent.
When should messages be sent to the customer?
